Module 3: Empathy | Becoming an Emotion Detective

Schools | Training Workshops for School Students

Workshop Description

Have you ever thought someone was upset with you, only to realize later that they were just tired or stressed? Emotions are often hidden beneath the surface, and understanding them is like becoming a detective. In this module, you’ll learn how to read between the lines and tune into others’ feelings by observing not just their words, but also their body language, tone of voice, and the subtle signals they give off.
Empathy is about truly understanding and accepting someone else’s emotions without rushing to “fix” them. You’ll practice listening with open curiosity, without judgment, and learn how to create a safe space where people feel seen, heard, and valued. Instead of reacting to what’s being said, you’ll gain the tools to respond in a way that deepens your connection and strengthens trust.
By the end of this module, you’ll develop the skills of an “emotion detective” – carefully observing the unspoken emotional clues around you. This skill is crucial for building meaningful, supportive relationships, resolving misunderstandings, and navigating social interactions with empathy.
